Word of Pen Notebook Project

This article describes a creative way to generate leads.

Inside each cheap, medium-sized notebook (one for every AFSer), include the following:

Information regarding how to become involved with AFS (maybe even staple a brochure)
An address (P.O. box or office)
A question such as, "If you could travel to any country you haven't been to, where would you go and why?".
Instructions:
- Please write down your first name, how you know the person who handed you this notebook, and your own answer to the question. Then pass the notebook to someone else in your city/general area, and please mail the notebook to the address above by [a certain date (probably mid-May would be best)] or when the notebook is full. Thank you for helping us with our project!"
- Have the AFSers start the first entry by answering the question and adding information about their countries. Then have them pass it on to a friend or host family member. This is an interesting project to see who is connected to whom and what people write, but it is also good for spreading knowledge of AFS and could hopefully generate leads. It must be acknowledged that probably not all of the books will be sent back, but those that are sent back can be returned to the AFSers at End of Stay.
