Volunteer Registration Interviewer

The Volunteer Registration Interviewer (VRI) is responsible for coordinating and conducting interviews with new volunteer applicants for their Team.


After the interview and once the volunteer application has been accepted, AFS will share the interview form with key volunteers in the area that will be able to best match the applicant's skills and interests with the local needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Team Leadership and the Volunteer Coordinator to learn of local volunteer recruitment needs
  • Responsible for completing interviews of all new volunteers within their Team
  • Ensure follow up with new volunteer in need of interviews in timely manner
  • Fill out online volunteer interview form and submit it on the Global Link database
  • Help new volunteers know how to start becoming involved and present AFS volunteer opportunities available.
  • Communicate with Volunteer Registration Staff as needed

Time Required:

The amount of time per week required will vary depending on the time of year and the size of the team. One interview takes between 15-20 minutes to complete. The amount of time it takes to coordinate an interview varies. June through September are the busiest time of year.

  • Listening skills
  • Organization skills
  • Somewhat flexible schedule
  • Dependable
  • General knowledge of AFS and local volunteer needs
  • Capacity to work in collaborative environment with other volunteers and staff
  • Ability to use a computer, Internet, and email
