Volunteer Development Coordinator Team Assignments
From AFSWiki
In order to complete the transition to the new Volunteer Development staff structure I am happy to announce the team assignments for the five Volunteer Development Coordinators. Team assignments have been updated on the Volunteer Development Department page of the AFS Wiki, along with contact information for all Volunteer Development staff.
The five Volunteer Development Coordinators are as follows:
- Sarah Krile (Senior Volunteer Development Coordinator, St Paul, MN office)
- Carolyn Sharratt (Senior Volunteer Development Coordinator, St Paul, MN office)
- Mary Perrin (Volunteer Development Coordinator, Houston, TX)
- Evelyn Volpa (Volunteer Development Coordinator, Aptos, CA)
- Jessica Charles (Volunteer Development Coordinator, Baltimore, MD office, starting April 11)
The Volunteer Development Manager, Nancy Frazier, supervises the 5 Volunteer Development Coordinators. Sarah and Carolyn are supervising the Community Development staff, for teams that have Community Development projects.
Given the imperatives placed on AFS USA in the coming year to ensure we are fully compliant with all State Department regulations, the primary focus of the Volunteer Development Coordinators in 2011 will be on compliance, including but not limited to:
- Following up with teams to ensure full implementation of the compliance improvement plans the teams have created since last fall.
- Assisting the Training Department to certify all hosting, orientation, and support volunteers, which means ensuring all of these volunteers complete the required online modules that will be launched in April 2011.
- Taking a lead on liaison recruitment to ensure compliant placements for all participants arriving in August 2011.
- Working with Volunteer Registration staff and Team or Chapter Volunteer Coordinators to ensure volunteer interviews are completed for all new volunteers.
During the next week, we will be updating this information in the "Local Settings" section of Global Link.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Director, Volunteer Development
