Visiting Teacher Program Orientation Group Leader
Responsible to: The Visiting Teacher Program Orientation Coordinator
General Description: The Group Leader volunteer is responsible for working with approximately 10 Visiting Teachers for the duration of the orientation leading them through various session content.
Time Required: Length of commitment will vary; orientations vary in length depending on program and size of group. Generally, a commitment of 3-5 days is expected.

- Ability to maintain open lines of communication with fellow volunteers as well as Sponsored Programs staff
Training:
- No formal prior training is required
Materials/Resources Provided by AFS:
- Volunteer Registration materials & manual available online at afswiki.org
- Orientation volunteer mailings sent prior to the event containing specific event information
- Meals and local transportation during event provided by AFS.

Responsibilities:
- Leading a group of approximately 10 Visiting Teachers for duration of the orientation
- Ensuring the safety of Visiting Teachers at all times
- Ensuring the timeliness of Visiting Teachers at all required events
- Ensuring all Visiting Teachers are familiar with the orientation agenda and materials
- Responding to general Visiting Teachers concerns
- Facilitating group discussion during each orientation session
