Updates from your Marketing Team
From AFSWiki
In July, you will begin to see Marketing place strategic targeted emphasis on Host Family recruitment in key geographic locations across the US with an Ad campaign, in targeted messaging on our website, in digital and social media, and in email messaging to our pool of host family leads. We have begun placing ads and when you go to our website you will see a POP-UP BOX appear on your screen. Click on the play button and watch videos from volunteers, host families and hosted students describing the value and benefits of hosting. This POP-UP will appear on the home page, and on the "Host" page of our website. If you have any questions about the targeted areas, please contact your Regional Hosting Manager.
Check out the 4 on the Fourth campaign on Facebook, and watch for messages from Hosting with AFS-USA and post and post again! We have also added content to a Host Family Stories page.
Liaisons are needed for our incoming students in August and September, Volunteer Development is working hard at recruitment, and you can help there too! Tap into your network to see who might love a chance to work with and assist our great incoming class of 2011-12 students. Send them to the Volunteer section of the website to get a greater understanding of how needed and rewarding the work of a Liaison can be.
As we monitor the results of these changes on our website, we will begin to craft messaging and POP-UPS for Sending as the cycle for SH recruitment, and the start of NH recruitment is right around the corner come mid August. We are already working on concepts to work in conjunction with the Returnee Initiative. Haven't heard what the RI has been up to lately? Check out the news on the Wiki at Returnee Initiative.
Last but certainly not least - good luck at your Gateways next week - it is a mountain of work getting students on planes back home or to their summer destinations and somehow seeing them off is invigorating and exhausting all at once - have a good time with your students!
Thank you for everything you do for AFS. It is always appreciated and admired.
Best to you all,
Deb, Willie, Marlene, Nancy, Stacy, Sam, Nick, Nika and Mylene
