Update on the 2010 Host Family Application

Dear AFS USA Hosting Volunteers,

We know that you are all anxiously awaiting the release of the updated 2010 Host Family Application, so we wanted to provide you with an update on when you can expect it. Our hope is that we will be able to introduce the updated application during the first week in January.

As you know, the U.S. Department of State has introduced several new regulations that need to be accounted for in the host family application. Additionally, volunteers were surveyed requesting your input for enhancing the host family interview form, reference form, as well as other forms. We want to ensure that all of these suggestions and new regulations are taken into consideration before releasing the updated application, which is why it is taking longer than expected to complete it.

Thank you for your patience as we finalize the 2010 Host Family Application. As soon as it is ready we will post another message on the AFS Wiki, as well as in the Coming Together Newsletter and in the weekly hosting memo's sent by the Regional Hosting Managers.
