Unplaced SH10 YES Students Now Nationally Available and NO TERRITORY ASSIGNED
From AFSWiki
Greetings Hosting Team Across The Nation!
Please recall that the SH10 YES students that are not placed in host families nor community placed were made Nationally Available on Monday, December 9. Their originally assigned regions of placement, however, were not changed.
We have learned that if a student in region X is put on hold in region Y the student's AFS Online page is not accessible to volunteers working to place the student. Consequently, we are removing regional assignments for the time being. The YES Malaysian students will now be "Nationally Available" and "No Territory Assigned" until we must purchase airfare from their arrival site in Washington, DC to their hosting communities. If a student is not placed in a host family, school or community placed by December 28, the student will be reassigned to the original intended region of placement.
Please proceed to enter requests for these students as you would for a student assigned to your region.
Thank you kindly on behalf of the Hosting and Sponsored Programs Staff!
