Underwriting for Hosting

In the event your local radio station cannot run a Public Service Announcement, your team can pay for underwriting (funding given by an organization for a service in exchange for a mention of their product within the station's programming).

Explore other options with the station as you are investing money with them. For example, ask for website exposure and an interview with a student/host family on one of their shows. The station has to know AFS is a nonprofit who very much is 'in' the community and 'for' the community; public ration stations will connect with the mission. It's not about buying underwriting time, but beginning a relationship.

The scripts can also be used for announcements at schools or other public address opportunities.
