Placement

  • Age requirement: Students have to be between 16.0 and 18.5 on arrival. This age range is strict because it’s regulated by Swiss schools and therefore there is no room for negotiation.
  • Language requirement: Switzerland is a multilingual country.
    • 75% of the students will be placed in the German speaking part of Switzerland.
    • 25% will get a French placement. We do not guarantee students who would only accept French speaking placements.
    • At most one or two students per cycle will be placed in the Italian part.
    • French speaking placements require a minimum of 3 years of study before departure.
  • Health restrictions: Be aware that 90% of Swiss families have pets in the house. (In most cases cats or dogs.)
  • Graduates:
  • Smoking: We prefer students who don't smoke.
  • Dietary Restrictions: No problems to place vegetarians.

Academics

  • Transcript/Diploma:
  • School: The Swiss school system is highly academic and competitive. (Please check "School System in Switzerland" stored in the Warehouse database.) For students with a poor academic background and/or low motivation for school it will be very difficult to find a school placement and to integrate into the Swiss school system. Therefore, top quartile students with a particular motivation for school are a must.
