New Hires…
Brittany McLean who joined AFS-USA on July 7, 2011 as a part time Volunteer Registration Assistant. Brittany is a graduate of the University of North Texas. She also studied abroad at Keele University, United Kingdom. Brittany’s previously worked for Boys and Girls Club in Portland, OR. She also did volunteer work for Peace Corps in Ukraine. Please join me in welcoming her!!!!
Heather Loeffler as a Program Services Coordinator effective July 25, 2011. Heather graduated with her master’s degree at George Williams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay, WI. She brings a wealth of experience, including a seasonal position working as the Application Reviewer position at AFS. Her previous experience includes working as an International Program Director. There she established open houses for parents and schools directors and assisted with program curriculum. Heather also has prior experience in organizing volunteers to staff numerous regional events. We are thrilled to have her with us!!!
Candace O'Malley who joined AFS USA as a Participant Support Coordinator effective July 25, 2011. Candace graduated from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA with a master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution. Prior to accepting this position she worked as a seasonal in the Baltimore office. She recently returned from working and studying in Tanzania. Candace came to AFS-USA with extensive conflict management, volunteer, and leadership experiences. Please join me in welcoming her!!
Janelle Cole who joined AFS USA as a Program Services Coordinator effective July 25, 2011. Janelle graduated from the University of California with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies. As a seasonal Application Advisor at AFS, she supported students throughout their application and preparation processes. Prior to joining AFS, Janelle worked as a Senior Program Manager at Cross-Cultural Solutions, an international volunteer organization where she promoted enrollment in programs to prospective volunteers and worked with school and university groups in recruitment efforts. Welcome Janelle!
Emily Mentzel in her regular part-time role as the Outbound Programs Administrative Assistant. Emily graduated with a bachelor of arts in Cultural Anthropology at UC Santa Cruz. She also studied in Berlin, Germany and University of Hyderabad in India. She has volunteered internationally in Thailand, Laos, Germany, India, and Costa Rica. Emily has been in a seasonal administrative position for the past six months at AFS-USA. Please join me in welcoming Emily!
Brianna Warren who will join AFS USA as an Outbound Programs Advisor on August 1, 2011. Brianna gained her bachelor’s degree at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. She has extensive experience working at various non-profits to include the American Red Cross, in Colorado. Brianna was also a volunteer in Tanzania, Africa. There she built relationships, trust and understanding. Please join me in welcoming Brianna to the Outbound Programs Team!
Jacob Schoofs as an Outbound Programs Advisor effective August 1, 2011. Jacob graduated from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL with a bachelor’s degree in Area Studies. He also studied in Berlin, Germany in 2003 and again in 2008. Prior to accepted this position, Jacob worked as a part time Assistant Advisor in the Portland office. We are happy to have you Jacob!
Elizabeth Martin who will join AFS USA as an Outbound Programs Advisor on August 1, 2011. Elizabeth is pursuing her Masters in Science in International and Global Education at Drexel University. For the past three years, she has lived abroad, working and studying in Spain and Chile. Welcome Elizabeth!!
Congratulations to ….
Maxwell Miller on his promotion to Outbound Programs Database Coordinator. Max worked as an Administrative Assistant from 2007 until July 2011 when he transitioned into the newly created role of Outbound Programs Database Coordinator. We are pleased that Max has accepted the position as Database Coordinator.
