New Hires…
Kelsey Halena who joined AFS-USA on Monday, March 16, 2011 as a Regional Hosting Coordinator. Kelsey earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, MN. She served as a volunteer in Costa Rica for nine months with Habitat for Humanity. Welcome Kelsey!!!!
Jeffrey Wallner as a Regional Hosting Coordinator effective March 22, 2011. Jeffrey is a graduate of Hamline University. He was a House Page at the Minnesota House of Representatives’ for two years and a legislative intern for three months. Jeffrey also did volunteer work for several non profits in his area. Please join us in welcoming Jeffrey to the Hosting team!!!
Brendan Crosby who joined the Hosting team as a Regional Hosting Coordinator on March 28, 2011. For the previous three years, Brendan worked for The Carter Center at the Southern Sudan Guinea Worm Eradication Program. He has also worked for various local non-profit organizations; he has gained extensive experience recruiting volunteers while working at the Red Cross. Please join us in welcoming Brendan to the Hosting team!!!!
Congratulations to ….
Anne Hoolihan on her promotion to Senior Hosting Coordinator for the Central States Region. Her hard work, organizational skills and attention to detail will be a great asset to the CS hosting team! We are pleased that Anne has accepted the position as Senior Hosting Coordinator.
Evelyn Volpa on her new role as Volunteer Development Coordinator. Evelyn has been with AFS since the spring of 2010 as a Community Developer in the Steinbeck Coast team. While in this role she successfully began revitalizing and developing sending and hosting efforts in the Santa Cruz, California area. Her background in public administration, client development, and volunteer management with other non profits provided her with a wide range of talents and skills that have allowed her to build and maintain partnerships. She will be out posted and work with the majority of western teams.
Jessica Charles on her transition to her new role as Volunteer Development Coordinator. Jessica’s background with AFS includes her time as a Regional Hosting Coordinator in the Baltimore office. Prior to that time, she was an NSLI-Y Seasonal Interview Coordinator in the New York office. Both of these previous opportunities provided Jess with the knowledge and skills needed to continue her work with volunteer development. One of her hopes for this role is to be able to ensure everyone understands ‘we are a team first and foremost’. Jessica will be based in the Baltimore office and will continue working with the majority of the eastern teams
Carolyn Sharratt on her promotion to Senior Development Volunteer Coordinator. Carolyn brings valuable AFS knowledge to the role as she has been the Coordinator of Office Services and Volunteer Development Administration in the St Paul office as well as provided key support to the Volunteer Development and Training teams for the past two years. Please join us in congratulating Carolyn and wishing her well in her new position.
