Sponsored Program Hosted Student Distribution Updates
From AFSWiki
Dear AFS USA Hosting Volunteers,
As of last week, YES student applications are being distributed to volunteers in a Nationally Available pool on a rolling basis. FLEX student applications will begin being distributed this week, and will also be assigned Nationally Available Status in Global Link.
In the first few days of Sponsored Programs student application distribution we have learned that when a SP student is placed on Hold, his/her application is visible only to volunteers in the region to which the team with the hold belongs. For instance, a YES student in Nationally Available status that is placed on Hold for Western NY Team is only visible to volunteers in the NYC gateway region while the Hold is in effect. Once the student is switched back to Nationally Available status volunteers in all gateway regions are able to view the application.
Furthermore, Global Link will automatically change SP students from Hold to Regionally Available instead of Nationally Available when the Hold expires. These students will be updated on a daily basis from Regionally Available back to Nationally Available so as to be visible to volunteers in the entire country.
Please bear with us as we work with our IT staff to further develop Global Link to improve our overall hosting processes. If you have any questions about using Global Link, please email the Global Link help desk (glhelp@afsusa.org).
Sincerely,
AFS USA Hosting Team
