Rules
From AFSWiki
There are three major rules to which all AFS students must adhere. If they break any one of these three rules, the student’s program will be terminated immediately, and the student will be sent back to his or her home country.
Students may not, under any circumstances:
- Use, possess, sell, any illegal drugs. Possession of drug paraphenalia or association with confirmed drug users or sellers will also be considered cause for warning a student that s/he risks early return unless such behaviors are stopped.
- Drive any type of motorized vehicle on a public road or fly airplanes. AFS students also are strictly forbidden to drive cars, jeeps, any type of truck or van, or any other vehicle which requires a license, on private land, driveways or parking lots. Students are not permitted to engage in any of these activities even if the consent of the natural or host parents is given and/or liability or other insurance has been purchased.
- Hitchhike. Although hitchhiking may be more common in other countries, it is strictly forbidden for AFS participants to partake in this activity.
Students and families should all be well aware of these rules before their arrival. Please be aware that these rules are strictly enforced. Information indicating that the student has broken one of these three rules should be reported to the local Chapter or Team volunteer as soon as possible.
