Risk Management, Compliance, and Quality Assurance Department Goals
From AFSWiki
The Risk Management, Compliance, and Quality Assurance (RMCQA) Team is responsible for:
- Communicating standards and regulations proposed and changed by the Department of State, Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET), and AFS International to all AFS-USA stakeholders
- Evaluating participant satisfaction to ensure such standards and regulations are met
- Maintaining participant information in SEVIS, the Department of Homeland Security’s database for exchange visitors.
- Members of the team will work collaboratively with other departments, the Compliance Advisory Group, and volunteers across the organization to provide a safe and meaningful experience for all students and their host families.
- Each Quality and Compliance Coordinator oversees a number of Area Teams and Chapters (please see the Contact Info. page for this information). The Quality and Compliance Assistant monitors all criminal background checks and J-1 Visa administration.
What are the goals of the RMCQA Team?
- Improve and develop quality training of the Board, Partners, Staff and Volunteers on components of compliance, quality, legal issues, and risk management.
- Improve monitoring, documentation, quality, and compliance based on previous years’ CSEs (Customer Service Evaluations), PSEs (Partner Service Evaluations), audits, and other evaluation and tracking tools.
- Work with other departments to align goals and processes and to create feedback loops to improve the delivery and oversight of our programs.
- Proactively engage with outside agencies and exchange organizations, such as CSIET, the Alliance, and Department of State, to be a more outward looking organization and information hub for the exchange industry.
