To date (November 2011), the Network Development team has shared opportunities and successfully recruited Returnees for Sponsored Program orientations, RI internships, Faces of America internships, and conferences.

For requesting the Returnee Initiative help in recruiting recent (in the past 5-10 years) Returnees, please follow the steps below:

  1. At least two weeks prior to the date you want the recruitment message to go out, please fill out the appropriate Google form:

Tips for interns: Remember interns need to be an undergrad, graduate student or in trade school. Recruiting candidates to follow their school schedule works best. For example: Summer internship-June-August, Fall internship: September--December, school year internship: September--June, etc.
  1. The Returnee Initiative Network Development Intern will contact you within 3 business days to let you know if you application has been accepted and to ask any clarifying questions. Throughout the process the Network Development intern will be in communication with your department.
  2. RI will publicize the opportunities with Returnees via email, Facebook, and the RI page on the AFS Wiki.
  3. All applications and questions from Returnees will be directed to the RI email address (returneeinitiative@afsusa.org) and forwarded onto the appropriate staff member.
  4. Once you have chosen the applicant
a. Inform ND Intern at returneeinitiative@afsusa.org
b. Your selected Returnees are asked to attend RI monthly calls

Please direct all questions to returneeinitiative@afsusa.org
