Case examples and registration requirements
AFS Volunteers or staff identify a family for short-term hosting
- a fully completed Host Family Application or Volunteer Registration is required.
Host family identifies a friend family for local 2-night or less stay-over
- In this case, the host family is implicitly stating that the recommended family would provide for the safety and well being of the student to the satisfaction of the host family.
- No registration is required.
Host family identifies a family for longer than 2-night stay, or out-of-town stay
- Volunteer Registration is required, and
- Requirements for independent travel must also be met.
