October 2010 Everyone Ready Topic: Tapping into Corporate Volunteer Programs
From AFSWiki
As of October 18, the latest Everyone Ready® online volunteer management training topic is available. As was announced in March 2010, all AFS-USA volunteers and staff can access the monthly Everyone Ready® topics online, via Global Link.
This month's Everyone Ready® topic is entitled, "Tapping into Corporate Volunteer Programs" and is available through November 14. After November 14, the seminar will be available in the "archived topics" of the Everyone Ready® site until mid-December.
By reading this Guide and discussing its content, participants will be able to:
- Understand what motivates corporations to develop workplace volunteer programs
- Clearly articulate to companies what your organization needs in order to work successfully with workplace volunteers
- Manage the process of engaging workplace volunteers from establishing a working partnership to following up an employee volunteer event
- Answer the questions: Are business volunteers different from other volunteers and how?
- Successfully work side-by-side with volunteers from corporate volunteer programs, whether providing direct services or working behind the scenes in your organization
