New Post-Arrival Orientation Activity- Emergency or not?
From AFSWiki
As noted in the Update on US Department of State Toll Free Number, below you will find a link to a new activity to be done during your Post-Arrival Orientation. The goal of the activity is to increase the participant's awareness of the kinds of situations that may pose a risk to their safety and well-being and to ensure that they are aware of the need to notify AFS Volunteers or Staff in such situations, or the Dept of State Toll Free number if they feel that their concerns are not being adequately addressed by AFS Volunteers or Staff.
Post-Arrival Orientation Emergency or not? Activity
If your area’s Post Arrival Orientation has already taken place, your liaisons may wish to review the scenarios found in the activity during their next monthly contact. While not a requirement, we hope that doing so would reduce the number of unwarranted “emergency” calls to AFS Volunteers, Staff and the Department of State.
Thanks to members of the Orientation Advisory Group and volunteer Al Russell who helped create this activity, within an extremely tight time frame to boot!
