New Alliance Website
From AFSWiki
The Alliance proudly launched last week the new www.Alliance-Exchange.org, its freshly designed website aimed at better serving its members as well as reaching out to a broader and more diverse audience. The unveiling of the new site came at the Alliance’s 2009 Board and Membership Meeting.
Designed and implemented by Flipout Design, the new www.Alliance-Exchange.org offers the same reliable information on international exchange issues and policy trends that Alliance members and supporters have long valued—with new features and a new look. Chief among those new features is the new Alliance Policy Monitor. Alliance members, as well as those outside the membership who wish to stay up-to-date on international exchange news and policy trends, can follow the Alliance’s timely, authoritative reporting by subscribing to one of our multiple RSS feeds. The Policy Monitor provides:
· Legislative updates, Congressional hearing coverage, and the latest on federal appropriations for exchange programs;
· Up-to-date information on the Department of State and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs;
· Timely updates on the Exchange Visitor Program and related regulatory issues;
· Digests of media coverage of international exchange and related issues.
While some Policy Monitor posts are open to the public, many are restricted for Alliance members only. Members will receive personalized login information directly from the Alliance in the near future; in the meantime, please use the following generic login information: username: polmonitor; password: education.
[Note: All Policy Monitor items will continue to be sent out via the Alliance listserv in addition to being posted on the online Policy Monitor. Once Alliance members receive their personalized login information, you will have the option to receive Policy Monitor items via email, RSS feed, or both.]
The new www.Alliance-Exchange.org also features:
· Legislative Action Alerts, so you can take direct action in support of exchange programs;
· Advocacy resources, helping you become an effective advocate on behalf of international exchange;
· Membership information, giving you the information you need to become an Alliance member and take your seat at the table with influential policy makers on behalf of international exchange;
· A section to Explore Exchanges and learn how Alliance member organizations connect Americans with the world through international exchange programs.
The Alliance welcomes members to the new www.Alliance-Exchange.org, the home of the collective voice of the U.S. exchange community.
