National Council 2010 Goals
From AFSWiki
As the volunteer policy-making body for program operations and volunteer governance for AFS-USA, the National Council adopted the following focus goals for 2010-2011:
- Clarify and codify the responsibilities of, and the relationships between, the National Council, Board of Directors, National Council Committees and Task Forces, Advisory Groups and the National Volunteer Assembly, and communicate them to our volunteers.
- Prioritize the development of the Sending Review Project and support volunteer opportunities for engagement.
- Continue to develop and implement an effective, broad-based communication plan that communicates organizational and National Council priorities to volunteers and other constituencies.
In addition, we will continue to fulfill the National Council’s ongoing responsibilities that while numerous, include the following priorities: monitor and achieve our hosting and sending goals, comply with Department of State and CSIET standards, oversee Team and Chapter chartering requirements and annual quality reviews, and support the Volunteer Development Plan.
We also recommit to the organizational goals outlined in the AFS Business Plan that include building volunteer capacity, expanding the footprint of AFS-USA, reducing operating costs, improving hosting quality, increasing sending participants, and identifying new funding sources.
