Latest update on AFS USA Participants' Departure from Egypt

All AFS USA participants have been safely evacuated from Egypt. Nine of our eleven participants as previously reported arrived in Istanbul, Turkey on Tuesday, February 1. Our two remaining US participants departed Egypt today. All of these participants will fly to NY on Thursday Feb 3 and be met by AFS staff there before traveling on to their home communities. A special thanks is due to all of the USA staff in particular our sponsored programs and support staff, who have worked tirelessly over this past weekend and past several days communicating with natural parents, AFS partners, Embassies and the State Department to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants.
