June 2011 Everyone Ready Volunteer Management Topic now online: Making the Most of Volunteer Resources on the Web

The latest Everyone Ready® online volunteer management training topic, Just a Click Away: Making the Most of Volunteer Resources on the Web became available on Monday, June 21. All AFS-USA volunteers and staff can access the monthly Everyone Ready® topics online, via the "Resources" tab in Global Link.
Discover the wide variety of volunteer management resources available online. Explore dozens of specific Web sites, and learn how virtual volunteering, social networking, and emerging technologies can benefit your organization's work and your own personal style of interacting with volunteers.
Learning Objectives
After reading this Guide and discussing its content, participants will be able to:
- Incorporate the Internet into your volunteer management toolbox
- Identify international volunteer leadership resources available online (most for free)
- Describe the potential of social networking sites for volunteer recruitment, exchange, and communication
- Develop ways to engage volunteers as “cyber deputies” to do Internet research for you
This topic will be the main Everyone Ready topic through Sunday, July 17. On July 18, the new topic, "Welcoming Diversity in Volunteer Participation" will launch. At that time, the Volunteer Web Resources topic will be moved to the Archived Topics section of the "Everyone Ready" main page.
