July 2010 Everyone Ready Topic: Generations: Adapting to Volunteers of Different Ages
From AFSWiki
As of July 19, the latest Everyone Ready® online volunteer management training topic is available. As was announced in March 2010, all AFS-USA volunteers and staff can access the monthly Everyone Ready® topics online, via Global Link.
This month's Everyone Ready® topic is entitled, "Effective Delegation Skills" and is available through August 14. After August 14, the seminar will be available in the "archived topics" of the Everyone Ready® site until mid-August.
By completing this online seminar and discussing its content, participants will be able to:
- Explain why planning for and managing generation change is crucial for your organization to maintain high-quality services in the future
- Describe some of the key differences among generations today and how these have an impact on each age group's volunteering
- Incorporate generational issues into your strategic planning for volunteer work design, recruitment, and ongoing management
