January 13 2008 Agenda & Background Papers for Upcoming POC (Planning & Oversight Committee) Meeting of the AFS-USA Organizational Study

Dear Volunteers & Staff,
As announced earlier this weekend in a communication update regarding the AFS-USA Organizational Study, the Planning & Oversight Committee (POC) will be meeting at the National Service Center in NY on January 18 - 19, 2008. The purpose of this meeting is to review all the data and research gathered relating to the Organizational Study and make final decisions on the organizational structure.
The members of the POC are:

- Krista Hawthorne (Eastern States Territory)
- Larilyn Carpenter (Great Lakes Territory)
- Mary Porterfield (Central States Territory)
- Damian Pisanelli (Western States Territory)
- Margaret Crotty (President, AFS-USA)
- Theresa Collignon (Vice President, Partnership Projects)
- Carl Moccia (Chief Financial Officer)
- Jorge Castro (Regional Director, Central States)
- Kristen Bates (Regional Director, Eastern States)
- Andy Smith (Eastern Participant Support Manager)
- Margaret Hunt (Vice President, Business Development)
- Kerry McCollum (Vice President of Human Resources, Training & Volunteer Services)
Jim Laden and Wendy Hyatt will be facilitating this two-day meeting in New York. Joanne Yokoyama-Martin, the Coordinator of the Organizational Study, will also be in attendance.
Attached are copies of the agenda and background papers for this meeting. These background papers include all relevant information gathered as input and research for the Organizational Study. Many of these background documents have been posted in previous communications related to the Organizational Study. New information include summary reports on the staff focus group discussions, analysis of the last 10 years of staffing in AFS-USA, as well as results from the online staff survey.
