Who is this series for?

The ICL (InterCultural Link) ...for AFSers series is for all AFS volunteers and staff! This includes liaisons, orientation coordinators, trainers, volunteer development coordinators, among others.

The Why behind the ICL...for AFSers series

ICL...for AFSers are short, concise, approachable documents on intercultural topics that are directly related to the AFS experience, written specifically by and for the AFS community and are intended to help AFS "people" increase their awareness and knowledge of intercultural topics. They supplement training opportunities and frame academic topics in an AFS-appropriate manner. ICL...for Friends of AFS are an adaptation of the ICL...for AFSers. These documents are to be shared widely with external audiences who are either currently involved with AFS or may like to become involved. Examples include donors, external content experts, and current / potential host families.

How are they related to other AFS intercultural projects?

ICL...for AFSers will provide theoretical and practical information to support the AFS Intercultural Link Learning Program curriculum and increase our collective intercultural knowledge in the AFS community. As such, these documents will be one of many important "links" within Intercultural Link.
