Viewing AFS-USA Online Applications or OA

Getting Started:

  1. Login at URL: http://usa.afsglobal.org
    Login.png
  2. Click on Service Case in the top left-hand side bar

Retrieve a list of applicants in your Team

  • Please refer to the image above for the numbered items
  1. Select Participant from the Service Type drop down list
  2. Select Application from the Service Stage drop down list
  3. Select Open from Service Status drop down list
  4. Select OA (Online Application) Status: Here you have a variety of options defined below
    1. All: All of the applicants in your Team in all Placement Status
    2. Preparing: The applicant has been sent a link to their online application. They have not yet submitted the application to Student Services for review. The OPUS equivalent would be Pre-app.
    3. Submitted: The applicant has submitted their application for review to Student Services. Student Services is in the process of reviewing the application for completeness and will either:
      1. Return the application or
      2. Accept it. The OPUS equivalent would either be Incomplete (Inc) or In Progress (Ip)
    4. Accepted: Student Services has reviewed the application and has determined that it is complete. The application has not yet been sent abroad for review. The OPUS equivalent would either be Incomplete (Inc) or In Progress (Ip)
    5. Transferred: The applicant has been accepted by AFS-USA and their application has been sent abroad for partner country review. The OPUS equivalent would be Country Review (Rn) or Country Review Financial (Fnr)
    6. Returned: The applicant submitted their application. Student Services reviewed the application and found it to be incomplete. The application has been Returned to the applicant, with an email containing specific instructions, to be completed. The OPUS equivalent would be Incomplete (Inc)
    7. Rejected: We do not currently use this status
    8. Switch to Paper: We do not currently use this status
  5. Select your Team from Main Organization

  6. In the flyout box select Team from the radio buttons at the top of the box.
  7. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the box to find your Team, Select it and click OK.
  8. Once you have entered all of your Service Case: Search criteria click Search

Viewing Applications

  1. When the service records for your Team populate, click on the link in the Online App column for the application you want to view

  2. From here, you should be able to navigate through each page of the application as seen below.
  3. You will see the various pages of the application in boxes at the top of the screen, click on them one by one to read.

  4. Some of the application pages are uploaded documents. The form the student needs to complete is in the Please download blank form(s) here section

  5. To view these documents double click on the PDF logo or the file name under it.
  6. If there isn't a document in this section the applicant has not yet uploaded their application page

Print applications forms

  1. Click "Printable Version" at the top right-hand of the student's application screen (it's in a little gray box)

  2. Click the Adobe PDF box to the right of the forms you want printed.

  3. Open the downloaded Acrobat file with Adobe Reader and print.
