Double Placement Forms – for placing two exchange students in one Host Family

NOTE: Placing two exchange students in one host family, whether both are AFS students or not, requires prior consent by the students, natural families, host family, and if one student is hosted through another organization, by the other organization. Ask your Team Support Coordinator or your Regional Hosting Coordinator well in advance of any such requests.

Two participants can never be placed in the same home if:

  • They are from the same country
  • They speak the same language

If two students are placed with the same host family for any period of time, the following double placement consent forms must be submitted to AFS prior to the second student moving into the home:

  • Student and Natural Family Consent Form - signed by both students and natural families
  • Host Family Consent Form
  • School Approval for both students - we should have a signed PAF on file for both students

If one of the students is hosted through another organization, the following additional documents must be submitted to AFS prior to the second student moving into the home:

  • Organizational Consent Form - signed by a representative of the other organization

Double Placement paperwork is required for Emergency and Temporary placements as well. In very rare cases, AFSers may be placed with students from other organizations. Contact your Regional Staff for information on such cases.
