District representative

District Representative is an un-official AFS term and volunteer position used by some Teams to organize their Team into smaller geographic areas that when all combined equal the total Team.

Responsibilities

Since the District Representative or District Rep is not a required position the areas of responsibility listed here are generalities and may vary from Team to Team. If your Team uses District reps you are invited to add to this page.

  1. Represent their district to the Team
  2. Voting member of the Team
  3. Responsible for decentralized orientation when the geographic area of the Team is so large that it is not practical to conduct centralized orientation for the whole Team . The orientation may be preformed by the district rep or by an appointed and trained volunteer within the district. Also coordinates and reports to the Team Orientation Coordinator on the completion of required events.
  4. Keeps chapters within the district informed of AFS-USA and the Team requirements, updates and changes.
  5. Either is the Liaison Coordinator or assists in locating a volunteer for that position to coordinate all the liaisons within the district.
  6. Works with the local hosting and sending coordinators to ensure that all documents have been submitted and interview have been completed.
