Department of State Mandatory Volunteer Training Has Launched
From AFSWiki
Earlier today, all AFS-USA volunteers engaged in the recruitment, screening, orientation, and selection of host families, as well as those involved in the orientation and support of hosted participants and host families, received notification that they must complete a series of four (4) Hosting and Support (HSA) online training modules designed by AFS-USA, as well as an online “Local Coordinator Training” designed and administered by the US Department of State. Hosting, Orientation and Support Volunteers must successfully complete this series of trainings to maintain their affiliations and access to participant information in Global Link. All training modules are available to registered volunteers and staff via the AFS Online Learning Center.
All volunteers and staff engaged in the recruitment, screening and selection of U.S. host families must complete training by May 1, 2011.
All Team and/or Chapter Chairs, National Council members, National Council Committee members, and Publicity Coordinators must also complete this training by May 1, 2011.
All volunteers and staff engaged in the orientation of host families and hosted participants must complete training by August 1, 2011.
All volunteers and staff engaged in the on-going support of hosted participants and host families must complete training by August 1, 2011.
