Chapter Volunteer Coordinator
The Chapter Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the recruitment, integration, orientation, and recognition of volunteers for the chapter
Responsible to:
Time Required:
- 5-10 hours per month depending upon your chapter
- Length of service time : 1 year minimum commitment

- Excellent relationship and team-building skills
- Negotiating, mediating, recognizing others, problem-solving, listening
- Ability to maintain open lines of communication with other volunteers as well as potential volunteers.
- Capacity to work in collaborative environment with variety of personalities and cultures
- Capability to assess needs and then plan accordingly
- Access to personal computer required and necessary (specifically online services)
Training:
- Participation in regional or national conferences or training events
- Database training
- Peer-to-peer training and/or mentoring available

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and lead chapter leadership to assess local volunteer needs and create a volunteer development plan for the chapter
- Responsible for complete registration of all volunteers within the chapter
- Coordinate with AT Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that there is a cycle/program of “new volunteer orientation sessions
- Ensure adequate publicity to attract volunteers to become involved and aware of the full range of AFS volunteer opportunities available.
- Ensure follow up with new volunteer leads in timely manner (7 days)
- Coordinate with Team Volunteer Coordinator to ensure training, orientation registration, and integration of all new local volunteers within 30 days of assigning a volunteer role.
- Work with the chapter and team to develop and implement a plan to recognize volunteers Which includes regular communication with the Regional Recognition committee to ensure volunteers in your area are provided regional/national opportunities
- Cultivate and support local volunteer network by keeping regular contact with chapter volunteers.
- Maintain supply of volunteer recruitment materials and reorder as needed.
