CBYX, FLEX and YES Monthly Surveys

Why are we doing this?

You may have noticed that CBYX, FLEX and YES students have been receiving a monthly survey to complete. As part of AFS-USA’s grant agreements with the US Department of State, all Sponsored Students are required to complete monthly surveys that are sent directly to full-time AFS-USA staff. While this is a tool that is required per our grant agreements, we do want to use them in a way that makes sense for students, staff and volunteers (in short, we want to help rather than hinder).

That said, these surveys help assure that students with varying communication styles will find an opportunity in which they are comfortable to share concerns. They have become wonderful tools in which to help SP staff further evaluate the student’s experience as well as allowing students to self-report in a secure, password protected website. This survey also provides a platform for students to tell us great stories which we can share with our funders as well as the greater AFS community. The Department of State often requests great stories to highlight CBYX, FLEX and YES students' accomplishments to share with its constituents and it’s wonderful to be able to have a number of great stories on hand.

The Sponsored Programs team would like to thank volunteers and host families for their continued support of the CBYX, FLEX and YES programs! If you should have any program specific questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch: Sponsored Programs Staff
