AFS-USA Position Description

Bio Requester

A bio requestor is a volunteer that is involved with the hosting program in their chapter and/or team. This role has access to view host student applications online and also to request placement of host students in their area.

Responsible to: Team Hosting Coordinator or Chapter Hosting Coordinator

Time Required:

  • 5 hours/week (may vary depending on your team or chapter)

Competencies Required:

  • Passion for the AFS mission
  • Access to a computer with internet

Training:

  • Ongoing support from Regional Service Center
  • Peer-to-peer training and/or mentoring available

Works With:

  • Staff
    • Regional hosting staff and admissions
  • Volunteer
    • Team Hosting Coordinator and/or Chapter Hosting Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly view student applications online and assist the team and/or chapter in selecting students to place
  • Communicate on a regular basis with Team and Chapter Hosting Coordinators
