AFS need and merit-based scholarships are currently undergoing a major restructure, and the AFX program is restructuring to fit into the scholarships process for 2009 and beyond.

About AFX

Awards for Excellence (AFX) operated for ten years as AFS-USA's premier merit-based scholarship program. This prestigious, national program provided full and partial scholarships for US high school students to participate in any of AFS's programs abroad. Awards were based on excellence in academics, community service, and leadership, with special consideration given to students who also exhibit ambassadorial spirit.
