Placement Notification Email
Dear Smith Family,
The placement of Tim from Germany in your family is happy news! We are writing today to provide some basic information about your participant, and to encourage you to begin communicating with him. Because AFS Germany has just been informed of Tim's placement with your family, we ask that you wait 2-3 days before contacting him to allow enough time for our colleagues in Germany to share your family's information with him.
You can contact your student by accessing his application by logging on to http://www.afsonline.org/exactpage. Your login information is below:

In addition, we'd like to take this opportunity to make you aware of a wealth of information about Germany that you may access via an on-line resource called CultureGrams. You can get a glimpse of your participant's home country in the photo gallery, read biographies of noted figures and even try a typical recipe.
In order to access this wonderful resource log on to http://www.culturegrams.com/. In the upper left corner you will see the Subscribers area. Your login information is as follows:
Username: AFSUSA Password: cgrams
So that all AFS Host Families can have access to this site, we ask that you do not share this login information with others. This is to prevent too many individuals from accessing the system at one time, in which case access will be denied to additional users. On a related note, please remember to close the window when you have finished using the site in order to allow others to access the site.
Other important steps in preparing for Tims's arrival are reviewing the AFS Host Family Handbook, which you should receive via mail soon, and attending the required, Pre-Arrival Orientation to be held in your area. Please remember to bring your Host Family Handbook with you to this event.
