Using the Management Team Approach, encourage all staff to ditch the “silo mentality” and recognize engaging volunteers is everyone’s business. Volunteer involvement in your organization will never be the same!
The latest Everyone Ready® online volunteer management training topic, The Management Team Approach to Enhancing Volunteer Involvement became available on Monday, August 15. All AFS-USA volunteers and staff can access the monthly Everyone Ready® topics online, via the "Resources" tab in Global Link.
Learning Objectives
After reading this Guide and discussing its content, participants will be able to:
- Understand why the team approach is so critical to successful volunteer engagement
- Assess the “team culture” of your organization
- Develop or enhance a team approach
- Define the purpose of the management team (not an advisory council!)
- Describe options for gaining executive support
- Decide who should participate on the team
- Suggest goals and tasks to be accomplished
- Establish or clarify support roles to be carried out by key staff
- Evaluate the success of the team approach
This topic will be the main Everyone Ready topic through Sunday, September 18. On Monday September 19, the new topic, Designing Work for Today's Volunteers will launch. At that time, the "The Management Team Approach" topic will be moved to the Archived Topics section of the "Everyone Ready" main page.
