An AFS area is a designated geographic area with boundaries and is comprised of multiple Local groups within those boundaries. It should be noted that the sum of all AFS areas is the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. A state may contain more than one AFS team, and an AFS team may contain more than one state. All geographic areas of the U.S. must be included in an AFS area, and Team.
